my work needs to be shown, can someone at least just help me set the problem up????

Frank leaves Memphis, Tennessee, traveling toward Alburquerque, New Mexico, at an average speed of 60 miles per hour. Two hours later, Marsha leaves Albuquerque, traveling toward Memphis at an average speed of 50 miles per hour. If the distance from Memphis to Albuquerque is 1000 miles, how long after Marsha leaves will it take them to meet?

oh, i also know that the answer is supposed to be 8 hours...I just dont know how to get there. thanks so much :)

Since d=rt and you are given r and d:

Between them both they drove 1000 miles.

\(\displaystyle \underbrace{60t}_{\text{Frank's distance}}+\overbrace{50(t-2)}^{\text{Marsha's distance}}=1000\)

Solve for t. 2 hours less than that is how long Marsha drove.

oh jeez. lol i was doing that, just forgetting to subtract 2 lol. thank you so much!!
