1. Find the slope and y-intercept of the line and draw its graph. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.)
1/3x-1/4y+1=0 i found the y intercept i know it;s (0,4) however i don't know what the slope is. I know there's the slope formula but i don't know how to implement it in this situation.

2. Find the difference quotient and simplify your answer
f(t)=1/t-10 , f(t)-f(9)/t-9 t doesn't equal to 9.

I'm extremely lost on this one. I have no idea how to approach it. Do i replace f(t) with 1/t-10 or what? Please explain!

3.Find the zeros of the function algebraically
f(x)= 36x^4-16x^2 find the smallest value and the largest value i know one is 0. But i'm still confused on how to find out the smallest value and largest value for this function help !

1. Is it: \(\displaystyle \dfrac13 x - \dfrac14 y + 1 = 0\) ?

If so, then (0, 4) is correct. And you can re-arrange the equation like this:

\(\displaystyle \dfrac13 x - \dfrac14 y + 1 = 0\)

\(\displaystyle \dfrac13 x + 1 = \dfrac14 y\)

\(\displaystyle 4\left(\dfrac13 x + 1\right) = y\)

\(\displaystyle \dfrac43 x + 4 = y\)

Can you find the slope from this?

2. Yes, you do that and substitute f(9) too. Then you simplify.

3. This is just like factorising an expression. Can you factor a highest factor?

For example, the zeroes in x^2 -x - 12 is obtained when you factor the expression to (x+3)(x-4) and then, you know that the zeroes occur at x = -3 and x = 4.
