 Does anyone know how to do (x+5)^2, with "Solving Polynomial Equations in Factored form"I know it looks really easy! :?:

Unfortunately, without an equation, it is very difficult to solve the equation. There should be one of these: "=".

The fundamental concept is this, If a*b = 0, then either a or b must be zero.

You seem to have repeated yourself and still failed to provide an actual equation.

Perhaps you meant (2x+5)^2 = 0???

If so, Think for a moment on what that means. If you square something, and get zero (0), what must that "something" be?

But i copied the problem right out of the book!I think your sposed to distribute. The book says........ups your right   it does say = 0! theres another question you can answer(sorry) x^3-x^2+4

If you copied the exercise exactly, then the instructions cannot be to "solve", because what you have copied is not an equation. (It is not mathematically possible to "solve" an expression.)

So perhaps it would be helpful if you replied with the complete instructions for this exercise. Thank you.

Eliz.
