Noshers's xmas hamper is a wicker basket in the shape of a regular pentagonal prism. The hamper has internal simensions of 40 cm long sides and a depth of 40 cm. What volume of delicious seasonfood could be fitted with this space :(
 
It's not a whole lot different from the one you posted on MMB.

Chop the pentagonal cross sections up into triangles and see if those pieces are any easier.
 
With just the slightest amount of geometry, one can determine that a regular pentagon chopped up into congruent triangles gives 5 isosceles triangles with base angles of 54º and an apex angle of 72º. Of course, this may not be necessary if you happen to remember the formula for the area of a regular pentagon, which I don't, but I could easily look up if I were in the mood.
