And post your problem correctly... as posted your problem is to simplify: \(\displaystyle 5w^2 - \frac{80}{w^2} + 2w - 24\) which could not be "simplified meaningfully". However, if you had posted: Simplify: (5w^2 - 80) / (w^2 + 2w - 24) which would have been equivalent to: \(\displaystyle \frac{5w^2 - 80}{w^2 + 2w - 24}\) this can be simplified meaningfully. As a first step - factorize the numerator and the denominator, and show us where you are stuck.
