hurry and help please! simplifying polynomials

simplify:

5w^2 - 80 / w^2 + 2w - 24

And post your problem correctly...

as posted your problem is to simplify:

\(\displaystyle 5w^2 - \frac{80}{w^2} + 2w - 24\)

which could not be "simplified meaningfully".

However, if you had posted:

Simplify:

(5w^2 - 80) / (w^2 + 2w - 24)

which would have been equivalent to:

\(\displaystyle \frac{5w^2 - 80}{w^2 + 2w - 24}\)

this can be simplified meaningfully.

As a first step - factorize the numerator and the denominator, and show us where you are stuck.
