Could you please explain how to write an equasion for a circle?

How do I tell if a line is parallel or perpendicular when the only thing given is "line a = -3, line b = -3"?

If that's all that's given (no x, no y, no slopes, no equations, no graphs, no definitions of "a" or "b", etc), then there is no way to determine anything, because you have not been provided with the necessary information. Sorry.

Eliz.

thanks for the links

I would like to thank you for giving me the links to the pages where I could find the answers. I've been out of school 15yrs and did not have these problems in high school math, but am trying to help my niece with her homework. I am very rusty on my math even though it was my best subject.[/tex]
