Hi everyone,

Please let me know if this needs to be posted elsewhere under a different category.

I would like to better understand how to solve an equation such as -

(9.0ml) x (0.09L)

I can google the answer and get the following -

8.1 x 10-10 m6

I am assuming:

ml ≡ mL = 10-3 L .................. and

x ↔ multiplication ('*' is generally used to indicate multiplication - to avoid confusion with variable named 'x')

Convert everything to consistent unit.
In this case, either to mL or L
I choose to convert to L (standard)

(9.0mL) * (0.09L) = (9.0*10-3) * (9.0*10-2) (L*L) = 81.0*10-5 L2

1 L ≡ 10-3 m3

You may choose to convert - but not necessary.

Sounds good.

That all makes sense. Thanks so much for your reply.
