f of x is a piecewise function which equals 1 over (b-a) if x is between a and b and equals 0 otherwise.

The probability that x is between c and d equals the integral from c to d of f of x dx which equals the integral of 1 over (b-a) dx which equals (d-c) over (b-a) ..... you might want to say that f(x) = 1/(b-a)

The probability that X is between x sub c and x sub d is equal to the summation as i goes from c to d of f of x sub i.

I hope that you can do well in your talk.
