My best guess is that you submitted your previous post, only to find it "disappeared." In reality, we have a particularly unpleasant spam problem so the first few posts by new users get put into a moderation queue. These posts have to be approved by an actual human moderator, so your posts and replies won't go "live" immediately, until you've been a member for a while.
