Lets say i have a rational function that I have to graph with slant asymptote which i found by long division. It is: x-3.

How would i graph this on my graph of the function? Thanks!!

We can graph an asymptote as a dashed, thinner line.

You would graph the linear equation for the slant asymptote just as you have always graphed linear equations. The only difference here is that the line would be lighted dashed in, instead of being drawn as a dark solid line.
