how to get started with derivative of 1 / [-8x^12]

I've tried a few different ways, but I keep getting it wrong, or I mess it up. I really just need to know how to start it, then I can take it from there. Help please!

rewrite the function ...

\(\displaystyle -\frac{1}{8} \cdot x^{-12}\)

now use the power rule for derivatives.
