So I came to this problem on my homework and I don’t understand how you would solve it every time I try I get a different answer. Please help?

If (g^6)/(g^2) = 81 what is the value of (g^4)/(g^5) = ?

You said you got "different" answer - every time you tried to solve it.

Please share with us (with all the work) two of those answers - so that we know exactly where we can help.

Can you simplify (g^6)/(g^2)? How about (g^4)/(g^5)?

Here is an example that might help and all I am doing is applying the definition!

h^5/h^2 = (h*h*h*h*h)/(h*h) = h*h*h = h^3
