I need to remember on how to decipher between the opposite side of the triangle and the adjacent. I have the formulas. If I can figure this out then I should be ok. I hope!
I'm not sure what you mean by "formulas"...? To find which sides of a triangle are "opposite" and "adjacent" to a given angle or vertex, read the definitions of "opposite" and "adjacent" sides, and then look at the picture.
