How to create a beginning inventory list for subways?

forgive me if this question shouldn't be posted in this forum.

i need to create a beginning inventory list for subways.. I don't know how to do it. What information should i include? how many columns does a beginning inventory table have?

one of the columns is called "number of units" when applied to mc donalds, how would this work? would number of units refer to only hamburgers? or bread? or coke?

We really need to know what the textbook gives as the exact problem and where you are in studying accounting or inventory control or whatever it is that your course is about. We have little context as yet, and what we have is perplexing. The referenced table is NOT an inventory list. So without knowing what the textbook is giving as a problem, I am not even sure what the problem is really about.

this is a homework for my finances' class. We are using the book "capital budgeting and investment analysis" however, such problem doesn't come from the book.. The professor created that problem.

We are supposed to create a beginning inventory list for subways. Or a pretend inventory .
could you please help me? i don't know what kind of information is a beginning inventory list supposed to include. I thought the referenced table was about a beginning inventory list.

An inventory list is just a list. It could be as simple as a two column list like

$\displaystyle \text{Buns}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{500}$
$\displaystyle \text{Cheese} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{1500}$
$\displaystyle \text{Tomatoes}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{80}$
$\displaystyle \text{Onions}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{72}$

And so on.

This is as basic as it gets.

What would be more helpful would be a three column list with captions like

$\displaystyle \text{Name}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{Units}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{Count}$

$\displaystyle \text{Buns}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{Items} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{500}$
$\displaystyle \text{Cheese} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{Packages} \ \ \text{1500}$
$\displaystyle \text{Tomatoes}\ \ \text{Pounds} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{80}$

What would be even more helpful would be a five column list with captions like

$\displaystyle \text{Onions}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{Pounds} \ \ \ \ \ \text{1.04} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{72}\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \text{74.88}$

If you get more complex than this, I think you are talking about a ledger or journal.
