“Sasha and Max spent Saturday evening in a bar. They drank beer (for 25 CZK), juice (for 50 CZK) and the cocktail "Sex on the Beach" (for 100 CZK). They each drank 10 drinks during the evening. Sasha drank twice as much beer as Max, but she drank three times as much juice than Sasha. Sasha spent CZK 500 and Max spent CZK 625. How many cocktails did they drink together? “
I was just practising old questions of my exam and I found this one . Thought it would be easy but I just do not get the right answer which is 7 cocktails. Thanks in advance .

I tried to do with two equations
B for beer , J for juice , C for cocktails.

For sasha ,x1 B+ x2J + x3 C= 10 x 500
For maxine ,y1B + y2 J + y3 C= 10 x 625

Then ,
Sasha drank twice beer as maxine
2y1B + x2 J + x3 S = 5000

for max three time as much as juice as sasha
y1B + 3x2 J + y3 S = 6250

then I am stuck. Thanks for your replies

Can you please define all your variables? Possibly that is where you are having trouble?

SB = number of beer Sasha drank
SJ = number of juice Sasha drank.
SC = number of cocktails Sasha drank.
MB = number of beer Max drank
MJ = number of juice Max drank.
MC = number of cocktails Max drank.

They each drank 10 drinks during the evening:
1)SB + SJ + SC = 10
2)MB + MJ + MC =10

Sasha drank twice as much beer as Max:
3)SB = 2MB

Max drank three times as much juice than Sasha:
4)MJ = 3SJ

Sasha spent CZK 500:
5)25SB + 50SJ + 100SC = 500

Max spent CZK 625:
6)25MB + 50MJ + 100MC = 625

6 equation with 6 unknowns might be solvable
