How many possible options are there: I have either a current employee or not, a current project or not a current project, in city x or not in city x. For example: I have a current employee, not on a current project in city x is one option, another one is: I have a current employee on a current project not in city x and so forth. What is the formula behind it?

"Fundamental principle of counting": If event A can happen in n ways and independent event B can happen in m ways, the two can happen in mn (m times n) ways.

Here you have three "events" each with 2 possibilities. There are (2)(2)(2)= 8 options.

You have 3 coins - one penny, one nickel and one dime

If you toss them all together - how many different ways they can land? (not counting the chance of one or all of them rolling off and hiding under the sofa)
