How do you find the maximum/minimum of functions?

You posted no work of your own effort.
You did not bother to tell us even what problem you are working on.
You did not say what help you need.
 
I asked how to find the minimum and maximum values of functions. I am sorry for trying to pass my math course, and I am sorry for looking for help. We're constantly told to ask for help, but it's no use when people like you come on here and reply with smart *** comments.

I'm sorry, too....you didn't give us anything to work with. I guess I would need to tell you that if you find the first derivative of a function, and set it equal to 0, then you will find a point (or points) where the function has a maximum or minimum value. You'll have to check values on either side of those possible maximum/minimum points to see what you actually have...max or min.

Am I confusing you? I hope so...if you can tell us WHAT your your problem IS specifically, and show us what you have tried to do, we can certainly do a better job of trying to help.
