8-w/10=3/5

You probably have not gotten an answer yet because it is not clear what you mean.

Is this your problem?

(8 - w) / 10 = (3/5)

Or this?

8 - (w/10) = 3/5

It makes a difference!!

Please repost, clarifying exactly what you mean.

Please note that this is not a chat-room, and there is no paid staff waiting on-hand to provide instant replies. The volunteers surf by as they are able. Students should expect to wait hours, if not days, for an online reply.

If you need instant guaranteed replies, then you would need to contract with a service which offers such. Please be aware, however, that many businesses of this sort are, shall we say, less than utterly reputable. Caution is advised.

Thank you for your consideration.

In my view, it is silly to differentiate a "multi-step" equation from a "single-step" equation. Forget you heard the term.

Here are some "single-step" equations:

A/10 = 3/5 -- Can you solve for A?

8 + B = 3/5 -- Can you solve for B?

Are we getting my drift?
