How do I solve this problem? left Riemann sum, 8 subintervals on [0,8] for area under curve

I calculated the answer to be 25.
I got a different answer. Can you post a picture of your work? (Make sure you're using the function value on the left side of each rectangle, to determine its height.)

:)

Hi lasvegas666. What you did is a right Riemann sum. You need to use the function values on the left side of each rectangle. For example, the function value for the first rectangle is zero on the left, so the first rectangle has zero height and its area is zero.

:)

I redid the problem and got 18 as my answer.
