It says when U recycle & compost 1.5 tons of paper it = 270 gals of gas saved. They want to know hoe many gals of gas are saved when U recycle 5.5 tons of paper. I know 0.5 tons of paper equals 90 gals of gas saved so 5.5 tons of paper equals 990 gals of gas saved but what's the proper equation format?

those are statements not an equation. I understand how to figure out the ratio relationship but what does the actual algebraic equation look like? (270/1.5)= x/5.5?
