Im workging on an algebra review for my geometry class and i have a question about one of the problems. I dont neeed the answer, but i wanted to know how i would solve this problem...
Find the x- and y-intercept of the line.
2x + 3y = –18

Help is apreciated so thanks in advance!!

Hi ksimis:

x-intercepts are points where a graph crosses the x-axis, so the y-coordinate is always zero at an x-intercept.

In other words, the coordinates of x-intercepts always take this form: (x, 0) .

You can find the value of x by substituting 0 for y, in your equation.

Likewise, y-intercepts are points where a graph crosses the y-axis, so the x-coordinate is always zero at a y-intercept.

In other words, the coordinates of y-intercepts always take this form: (0, y) .

You can find the value of y by substituting 0 for x, in your equation.
