Refer to the graph given below and identify the graph that represents the corresponding function. Justify your answer.

y = 4x
y = log4x

Plot the graphs of the following functions.

1. f(x) = 5x
2. f(x) = 4x+2
3. f(x) = (1/3)x
4. f(x) = log5x

y = 4x is a line.
The logarithm isn't a line.
I can't see the pictures.

1) Line - Slope-Intercept information is right there loking at you.
2) Line - Slope-intercept information is staring at you.
3) Line - Slope-intercept information is before your eyes.
4) Not a line.

What's your plan for drawing them?

If you cannot deal with the Slope-Intercept form of a line, you are not ready for logarithms. Please find a book if you havven't one and study the chapters on lines and their various forms. Youshoudl find these:

Standard Form
Slop-Intercept Form
Point-Slope Form
Point-Point (or 2-Point) Form

You may also find

Normal Form
Intercept Form

Get those in your head. Then we can move on.

oh its very confusing to me
Linear equations and logarithms are not usually taught in the same semester. Since you're not familiar with the simpler material, you probably shouldn't have been placed in a course covering logs.

It might be time to have a serious heart-to-heart with your academic advisor or guidance counsellor.
