1. Sheila started a company that manufactures jewelry and sells them on Amazon.com. The cost c in dollars, to make x items is given by the equation c=7/2 x +250 and the income R, in dollars, which is obtained when selling x items, is given by the equation R=6x. The break-even point where the cost and income equations intersect. How many items should the company sell to compensate?

2. The student council is selling pumpkins donated by the local farm to raise money for the Red Cross charity. Some pumpkins were 2 pounds and some 3 pounds in weight. A total of 100 pumpkins were delivered with a combined weight of 256 pounds. Enter the number of pumpkins that weight 2 pounds.

3. Tickets for a ride at a county fair cost $1.50 for a child and $2.50 for adults. If 420 tickets were sold for a total of $800, what was the number of children tickets that were sold?

#3) If all the tickets were children tickets were purchased how much money would have been taken in? How much short is this amount from the $800. It is clear that the adult tickets are $1 more than the children tickets. So have many of the children tickets need to be replaced with adult tickets to make up the shortage?
