I recently posted a problem regarding finding the slope with 2 points. This is the second concept that I’m having a hard time understanding.

The horizontal blue vector represents \(\Delta x\) and the vertical red vector represents \(\Delta y\). Without being given values for their respective magnitudes, you're going to have to guess. It looks to me like:

[MATH]\Delta y\approx2\Delta x[/MATH]
But that's only a guess. Are you given any other information?

Okay, looks like our guesswork was deemed correct. It's not a problem I would assign, but then I wasn't consulted. :)
 
Was the graph interactive, that is, could you see values for points along the line?
