Do you mean that you need a formula for finding the surface area of prisms...? If so, your book should contain this. But, in general, the process involves multiplying the girth (the cross-sectional perimeter) by the length, and then adding the areas of the ends.
However, without knowing the specific prism with which you're working, little specific can be said.
