I am doing homework, and I need help with a few questions. Hope someone canhelp and quick.

1. What is the inverse of this function? f(x) = 2 + 3x/4?

2. Is this function odd, even, or both? The function f(x) = 3x2 - 5?

3. Given f(x) = x and g(x) = x2 - 7, find (fg)(3). What? I am so confused with this one!

4. Given f(x) = 4 - 2x2 and g(x) = 2 - x, find (f ◦ g)(x). This has me confused too?

These are basic definition problems.

1) Swap and Solve. Change x to y and y to x, then solve for y.
2) What is the definition of an Odd Function? Even Function? Does it have those properties?
3) What does the notation mean? You should have a definition.
4) What does the notation mean? You should have a definition.

You will not be confused if you read, understand, and apply the definitions.
