help~i cant figure this problem out

the fee charged per car in a downtown parking lot is $1.00 for the first half hour and $.50 for each additional half hour or part thereof, subject to a maximum of $5.00. Derive a function f relating the arking fee to the length of time a car is left in the lot. Sketch the graph of f and determinet he values of x for which the function f is discontinuous.

One way to figure out the pattern would be to find some values. So:

How much will they charge if you park for fifteen minutes? For thirty minutes? For forty-five? For an hour? For an hour and five minutes?

And so forth.
