Hi, I'm having some issues understanding a certain question in my homework.

"Find the component form of the vector v with magnitude 10 that "goes in the same direction" as the vector u = <2,5>. State the components exactly (using simplest radical form if appropriate)."

I have no idea where to start! It would be fantastic if someone could show me the work and explain how they derived the answer.

Thanks in advance.

This is all you need to do.
\(\displaystyle \L v = \frac{{10}}{{\left\| u \right\|}}u\)

Can you explain why?
