Hi forum. I'm new here. I'm taking calculus I right now, but it seems my foundation in pre-calculus isn't as strong as it should be. Nonetheless, I have a B average right now.
This question is a calculus problem, but I can do the calculus part. The algebra part is killing me. Could someone break this simplification process into smaller steps for me? I do not see how this is achieved.
\(\displaystyle g'(x)\, =\, x\left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)(x\, +\, 5)^{-1/2}\, +\, (x\, +\, 5)^{1/2}\, =\, \dfrac{1}{2}(x\, +\, 5)^{-1/2}\left(x\, +\, 2(x\, +\, 5)\right)\, =\, \dfrac{3x\, +\, 10}{2\sqrt{x\, +\, 5\,}}\)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
