First of all, you just look at it. It's a quadratic equation. This means it has TWO solutions, but you cannot yet tell if hey are REAL.
Do you know the "Rule of Signs"? If so, you can look at it again and say to yourself, if they are REAL, they must be NEGATIVE.
Third, you can take a look at the Quadratic Formula. That part under tha radical, often called the "discriminant", will simply tell you the answer. \(\displaystyle 16^{2} - 4\cdot 4\cdot 15 = 16^{2} - 16\cdot 15 > 0\) and there are TWO REAL solutions. Are we ringing any bells on this part?
