How come for some quadtratic equation you can solve them completely (using the quadratic formula) (e.g. - x^2-5x-6=18 will give you -3x or x=8) but others are like this (x^2+10x=-5 ± √30 or -x^2-3x+1=0 =
3± √13
-2

Why cant you solve those like you do the rest?

I think I don't understand the question.

The solutions to (Quadratic = 0) are Integer, Rational, Real, or Complex. You get what you get. It depends on the equation, not on your opinion.
