You don't tell us what do you need to do - simplify? evaluate 'x'??
 


If you're trying to find the solutions to the posted quadratic equation, then the "set up" is putting the given equation into standard form:

y = Ax^2 + Bx + C

To obtain this form, begin by multiplying out (expanding) the lefthand side of the given equation; use the FOIL algorithm for that.

Next, add 1 to both sides, and you'll have the form above, with y = 0, A = 2, B = 7, and C = 6.

To solve for x, apply the Quadratic Formula or Complete the Square.
