i would just like some verification that i got these questions correct.

1. solve the equation by factoring: x[sup:3uca80fd]4[/sup:3uca80fd]+9=10x[sup:3uca80fd]2[/sup:3uca80fd]
I got x=9 and x=1 as the zeroes

2. solve the eqation using the square root property: 3x[sup:3uca80fd]2[/sup:3uca80fd]=30
I got x= plus or minus the square root of 10

3. Solve the equaiton by completing the square: 2x[sup:3uca80fd]2[/sup:3uca80fd]+4x+1=0
I got x= -1 plus or minus the square root of 2 divided by 2

p.s. sorry about writing out some parts of my answers as i could not find a square root key to use.

#1 ) Let x^2=Z : Z^2 - 10Z + 9 = 0

Z = 1 OR Z = 9

X^2 = 1 .. x = - + 1

x^2 = 9 .. x = -+3

#3) http://www.immaculata.edu/Students/ResourceCenters/MathCenter/documents/complete.pdf

Substitute your answer(s) back in the equations: that'll show you if correct or not.

(1) Not correct

(2) Correct

(3) Correct

We can type the following conventions.

x = sqrt(10) or x = -sqrt(10)

x = -1 ± sqrt(2)/2
