Hello again, I was wondering if someone could help me, because I don’t know where to start. I have looked through my whole textbook and I can’t seem to find something like it. So the question is:

Write an equation that has the given roots. Is there more than one possible answer? Explain.

2, -1, 5

Thanks for the help,

A polynomial can be expressed as the product of its roots(that's what factoring does). They gave you the roots:

\(\displaystyle (x-2)(x+1)(x-5)\)

Expand out and find your equation

In general, if x = a is a root, then x - a is a factor.
