Help with Parametric Equations

I have a Lissajous curve with the equations x=cos(2*t) and y=sin(t) for 0<t<2(pi). I need to find te cartesian equation for this and I am really stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated

I would use:

[MATH]x=\cos(2t)=1-2\sin^2(t)=1-2y^2[/MATH]
