A Chemist must mix 6 liters of a 30% acid solution with some of 80% acid solution 5o get a 50% acid solution. How many liters of the 80% solution should be used?

What is your plan for solving this?

Normally, it would be to find something that can be equated.

Acid

How much did we have at the beginning?
How much did we add?
How much did we have at the end?

NotAcid

How much did we have at the beginning?
How much did we add?
How much did we have at the end?

In each case, the first two should add up to the third.
