Problem #2 Find x and y in the following system:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \left[\begin{array}{c}3x\, +\, y\\x\, -\, 2y\end{array}\right]\, =\, \left[\begin{array}{c}x\, +\, 3\\y\, -\, 2\end{array}\right]\)

Problem #2 Find x and y in the following system:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \left[\begin{array}{c}3x\, +\, y\\x\, -\, 2y\end{array}\right]\, =\, \left[\begin{array}{c}x\, +\, 3\\y\, -\, 2\end{array}\right]\)

You have:

3x + y = x + 3 → 2x + y = 3

and

x - 2y = y - 2 → x - 3y = -2

Now you have two equations and two unknowns and solve it through your favorite method!
