Hello a friend refered me to this site and said you are all very helpful. Can someone help me with some logs?

Here is one of the problem I am struggling on:

Log [ (ABD) /C ] =

I don't know where to start. Thanks

Adam

What are you supposed to be doing with this expression? Do you have values for A, B, C, and/or D?

Please reply with clarification, including the instructions. Thank you.

Eliz.

This is all the problem says:

Log [ (ABD) /C ] =

a. log A + log B - log C - log D
b. log A - log B - log C - log D
c. log A + log B - log C + log D
d. log A - log B + log C - log D
e. log A - log B + log C + log D
f. log A + log B + log C + log D
g. log A + log B + log C - log D
h. log A - log B - log C + log D
i. none of these

Hello, Adam!

Ha . . . now I know what we're supposed to do!

We must use the Properties of Logs to "separate" this expression.

\(\displaystyle \L\log\left[\frac{ABD}{C}\right]\ =\)

From the Division Property, we have: . \(\displaystyle \log(ABD)\ -\ \log(C)\)

From the Multiplication Property, we have: . \(\displaystyle \log(A)\ +\ \log(B)\ +\ \log(D)\ - \log(C)\) . . . answer(c)
