Hi I need to evaluate the following integral. I will appreciate for solutions or hints. thanks.

Have you tried trig substitution?

Eliz.

well I know that the [int] du/(a^2+u^2) = (1/a) tan^-1(u/a) but what I have in the problem is (1 - .0001v^2) but that doesn't helps a lot right?

So I tried to modify the integral by Multiplying it by (10^4/10^4) and I end with the following integral

10^4 [int] dv/((10^2)^2 -v^2)

and I am stuck there.

Factor the denominator as the sum/difference of two squares: (1−.01v)(1+.01v).
The use partial fraction decomposition: 50/[v+100] − 50/[v−100]
