Can someone help me - it's late and I can't figure out:

The volume of a cylinder is 124 cm3 (3 is squared). If the height is 10 cm, find the radius (r) of the cylinder.

Re: Help with equation

Volume of a cylinder: \(\displaystyle V = \pi r^{2}h\)

\(\displaystyle 124 = 10 \pi r^{2}\)

You only have one variable to solve for.

What are you having trouble with? Show us your work and we'll help you point out any errors.

Re: Help with equation

I haven't set up the problem yet - this is a problem set out by the teacher for me to solve. I don't know where to start.

Re: Help with equation

Well, you have the formula for the volume of the cylinder that I gave you with only one variable to solve for. So, use algebra as you've been taught to solve for it. If you have any troubles, post what you have done so we can help you along the way.

You might want to read the first reply you received, wherein you were provided the formula and given the set-up. That might be a good place to start.
