Express as a single fraction in its simplest form:

I have been trying to work this out for a while,

Don't know how to start at all.

Could somebody please help me?

Thanks,

After combining the fractions inside the parentheses using a common denominator, I'd want to try factoring the parts of the other fraction. Since it's hard to factor a cubic (and it turns out this one can't be factored), I'd just look for useful factors, by dividing it by factors it could cancel with. If they don't work, then it doesn't matter.

If you need more help, please show some work so we can see what's needed.

Check that you wrote the expression correctly. This looks ugly.

Especially the term:

6x3 - 17x + 5

Per chance could that be:

6x2 - 17x + 5

After following the advice above, I would reciprocate the right hand side and swap the divide for a multiply:-

[math] a\div\frac{b}{c}=a\times\frac{c}{b}[/math]
