I think I am missing a step in this problem, I was wondering if someone would help me out and explain the process so I can understand it better because I am stuck.

The circus is coming to town. Sue is selling tickets. The first day she sold4 senior citizen tickets and 2 children's tickets for a total of $80. Thesecond day she received $145 for 5 senior citizen tickets and 7 children'stickets. What is the price of a child's ticket and a senior citizen ticket?
To earn full credit, show how you solved the problem by using correctmathematical symbols and by explaining thoroughly in words each step.

Thank you

Thank you I get that part and I can get the answer just by looking at it, the answer is 15 and 10 (senior tickets are 15, and children's are 10) but for the life of me I can't figure out the process to show work, I have better luck just looking at them and figuring out the answer. Do I multiply the first equation by 7 and then subtract line 1 from 2? I'm stuck??

You would only do that if one of the variables vanishes upon subtracting.
The term will vanish only if the coefficients in front of s or c are equal equal or differ by just a sign.

Try multiply the 1st equation by 5 and the 2nd equation by 4 and then subtract. I figured out what to multiply each eq by finding the lcm(4,5).
