There are two similar questions for a university assignment I have which have really stumped me. Any help on solving the problems or how to approach them would be most appreciated.
1) A survey shows that 10% of the population is victimized by property crime each year. A random sample of 527 people aged 65 or older shows a victimization rate of 14%. Is this a significant difference? Are older people more likely to be victimized?
2) The p- value for a two sided test of the null hypothesis H0:u = 10 is 0.06
a. Does a 95% confidence interval include the value 10? Why?
b. Does the 90% confidence interval include the value 10? Why?
