Help w/Problem Solver!

I am trying to get help with the problem solver at this link:

The solver I am referring to is all the way at the bottom. I have been trying to figure out how to insert square roots. I am currently working on functions and need help with some problems. When I try to insert any square root using the symbol (box with the little square root box) it inserts parentheses. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to insert a square root? Example:

f(x)=x with a square root of 3 + 5 with inputs of f(2) and f(0)

I just tried the input you described and had no trouble with the square root symbol. Make sure your computer is allowing Java scripting for this website. Perhaps that is the problem?
