Did you ask professors/assistants? They should know what the prerequisites are and maybe point you to resources at your school.

You really have to have mathematical talent in my option to do well in computer science.

I have students who studied an insane amount of time and still failed every test. Why is this? In my opinion they do not know how to study. Putting in the time is a no brainer but studying effectively is another story. I think that it depends on the student why they could study 5-10 hours a week and still fail the course.
Is this what is happening with you? Why do you say that you are having a hugh problem with math.? Are you not placed in the math class that is at your level? Many universities do not offer any classes before calculus 1 or pre calculus and if you belong in an earlier course you are out of luck at this university. Maybe you can sit in or formally take some lower level math courses at a local community college?

No let me explain. I live in Greece, our school system is horrible. The way they are teaching you is by decomposing a whole book. I am struggling not only with mathematics but with every theoretical course I have in my university, simply because I never learned how to learn. I am not studying 9-10 hours simply because I don't know how to study, I am desperately trying to seek help online or watch videos but nothing seems to work for me. The only lesson I like and love is Programming, because it is non theoretical lesson , it is more practical. So that is my problem after long time of searching how to do stuff in university I got really tired and I am beginning to think that actually I am not that smart I though I was.

Thanks for replying.

Hello. Are you comfortable with arithmetic? What kind of math would you like to learn better? Here's a sample placement test that covers arithmetic, pre-algebra and a bit of beginning algebra. Which types of questions seem unclear?

?

You can turn a theoretical course into a practical one by yourself, just by seeking relevant questions and then using your course notes to answer them. The Uni library probably has a large number of past papers that you can obtain. Initially you'll be very slow at answering questions because you have to look everything up. Sometimes you may have to go back to the basics, but this is ABSOLUTELY OK. Just start off at a level that works for you! The more questions that you answer the better and faster you'll become. When you start to understand you'll enjoy the subject more which makes further study much easier. This is the only method that ever worked for me. Just sitting and reading notes without actually solving anything, passive study, I find very boring and a waste of time (because I quickly forget). But if I can use the information to answer something then suddenly it's more relevant/ interesting!

I highly recommend you try the test that Otis suggests in post #5, and maybe try doing it in a library if your room has too many distractions

@Otis I checked (https://4.files.edl.io/efde/05/10/18/130912-abe17a5d-b7c6-4fce-a942-db7ed93f9166.pdf) , seems like I can't answer almost anything from them sadly...Specifically the sections I have to learn are : (Functions of a variable (like...Limits , Continuity , Function of Producers....and more) , Rows (like...Convergence and convergence rates , Geometric Rows...and more) , Details of analytic geometry (like...Vectors and straight line equation in plane and space, conical sections ) That's almost the whole course material I had to study for the first semester.

@Cubist Library as you know right now isn't available duo to COVID-19 so everything I do is from home.

actually I didn't know that Greece is also in lockdown now, but I should have guessed! Anyway I hope that you can find a way of starting to learn. People are all different, I hope that you can find something that suits you.
