Suppose x1 x2 x3 ... xm and p1 p2 p3 ... pm are indeterminates.
D=[
x1^p1, x1^p2,..., x1^pm;
x2^p1, x2^p2,..., x2^pm;
......................
......................
xm^p1, xm^p2,..., xm^pm;
]
What is the determinant of D?
I think det(D) may be similar with Vandermonde determinant. But I cannot find the degree of the factors such as (x1-x2) (x2-x3)... The indeterminates p1 p2 p3 ... pm confuse me.
Many thanks!
