help: t^4-t^3-14t^2+7t-4/t-4

You have posted:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \large{t^4\,-\,t^3\,-\,14t^2\,+\,7t\,-\,\frac{4}{t}\,-\,4}\)

Is this what you meant? And what are the instructions? What are you supposed to be doing with this expression?

Please reply with specifics, including all of the steps you have tried so far. Thank you.

you really need to use grouping symbols ...

(t^4 - t^3 - 14t^2 + 7t - 4)/(t - 4)

are you familiar with synthetic division ?

Code:
4].......1.......-1........-14.......7......-4
..................4.........12......-8......-4
-------------------------------------------
.........1........3.........-2......-1.....|-8

the quotient is t^3 + 3t^2 - 2t - 1 - 8/(t - 4)
