Please check if i answer the following questions correctly:

1)A square ceiling has a length of 18 feet. Please find the area of te ceiling. If each ceiling tile measures three square feet, how many tiles would be needed to cover the enitre celing.

Area of the ceiling

18*18=324

Area of ceiling tile:

3*3=9 ft.

324/9= 36 tiles.

2)A square office has a length of 46 yards. Please find the area of the office. If each floor tile measure one square foot, how many tiles would be needed to cover the entire office floor.

1 Yard=3 feet
3 feet =1Yard

45/3=15 feet

15*15=225 ft

Area of the floor tiles:

1*1=1

225/1= 225 tiles.

If each tile is 3 square feet then you divide by 3 , not 9.
This will give you 108 tiles.

for number 2

46 yards - convert to feet
46 x 3 = 135 feet

Area = 135 x 135
= 18 225 square feet

One tile is 1 square foot

then 18 225 tiles required.
Hope this helps.
