1. Sketch the region enclosed by x+y^2=6 and x+y=0. Decide whether to integrate with respect to x or y. Then find the area of the region.

2. Sketch the region enclosed by the given curves. Decide whether to integrate with respect to x or y. Then find the area of the region.
2y= 4 sqrt(x), y=3 and 2y+2x=6

I need help seriously. I do not know how to even start working the problems can you please help me.

Did you graph them? That would be a good place to start.

It shouldn't matter which integration you use. One may be easier.

You don't know how to graph linear and quadratic equations...? This would have been covered back in algebra.

If you're in calculus without having taken algebra beforehand, you might want to have a serious talk with your academic counsellor about appropriate course placement.

Help Please reply

The tutor I went to showed me that. I need to know how to set the problem up with the integral I need to know what it looks like. I know how to solve it once its in the integral form.

Right. What you need is EVERYTHING you should have gotten from the last two months of class. This is not even a little encouraging.

I am having trouble with a calculus student getting tutoring on the graphing of LINES. Something is very wrong. Do you have a teacher, faculty member, or advisor you can talk to? NOW would be the time, I would think. Print this page and show it to the appropriate individuals.

It is not that I need everything. Graphing has always been a problem for me. You act as if I know nothing which isn't true. I just asked for a little help in getting me started. The tutoring center at my school even had trouble with these two problems.

No, I'm acting as if you do not know how to solve this simple problem. If your tutoring center had trouble with this problem, why are they being paid? That's messed up. It's time to upgrade your graphing skills and quit making excuses.

My views. I welcome others'.

As has been explained, the material you need "a little help" with was covered in entire courses before this one. What you, to all appearances, need consists of a few months' work, at a minimum, and is simply beyond what can be provided here. This is not an attack on you; this is an admission of the limitations of online tutoring.

Please have a serious heart-to-heart with your academic counsellor.
