Here are two problems, already solved. I missed a day of lecture and now I am really kicking myself for it. The problem I am having is I do not understand how or why the denominators have changed in the instances where I have squared in blue. What has caused these changes in the denominator? Any help is MUCH appriciated. Thank you.

1) When you're multiplying fractions, there is no need to keep the factors in the same orders. For instance, (1/2)(3/4) is the same value as (1/4)(3/2). That's all they did here.

2) Here, they switched the numerators: (1/2)(3/4) = (3/2)(1/4). And they broke en+1 into two, using exponent rules: ene1.
